Tropical Hardwoods

Give us a call today for Tropical Hardwoods

In addition to the time-tested techniques we use for our traditional pine and cedar decks, our technicians are expertly trained on the special care required in restoring South American Tropical Hardwoods. These hardwoods come in many species to include Ipe (most common), Tigerwood, Cumaru, Garapa and several more. These hardwoods require handling with similar care and attention to detail one might expect when restoring a fine piece of furniture. Just as with traditional woods, the preparation of the wood is the most important step in the restoration process, to include the right solutions to use and expert use of a pressure washer wand to ensure no damage to the wood occurs. Different than traditional woods, Tropical Hardwoods require a unique type of deep penetrating and slow drying oil to ensure the best finish. We at Deck Medic only use such stain for Tropical Hardwoods. Application requires special care too, as the oil needs to be relentlessly worked into the dense fibers of the wood. At the end our restoration process, the hardwood finish and protection is unmatched in the area. Contact us here to learn more.
